Requisition ID: 235397 Requisition Posting End Date: 10/31/2021 Highway Engineering Specilaist Position Title: Subject Matter Expert - Highway Engineering Location: Gurugram, Haryana Reports to: Functional Manager/Project Engineering Manager Direct Reports: Working team members Duration: Long Term Direct Functional Manager: Infrastructure EAM Region Engineering Manager Position Summary: A Technical specialist in the field of highway engineering / roadway design / transportation engineering. Role will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of industry professionals across the globe. The role demands planning and conducting independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of Highway engineering techniques, procedures, criteria for Highway/Roadway design and e-highway. Position will lead an integrated team of engineers and designers for design works related to highway, roadway, traffic and interchange geometrics, alignment, grading, flexible/rigid pavement, traffic analysis, highway signing, marking, signals and utilities, associated structures such as underpass, bridge, toll gate and drainage structures. Major Responsibilities Plans and coordinates independent work requiring judgment and experience in the application and substantial adaptation of engineering techniques. Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. Prepare, check/review, approve conceptual studies, designs and detailed project drawings, proposals, design criteria & specifications, project budget and schedules Assists in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and mentors them and provides input for their performance evaluations. Provide assistance to the Construction Department and Field Engineering to resolve Contractor Technical Queries and resultant field changes. Ensures that technical risk assessments are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding design documentation are in compliance with project Quality Assurance plan and procedures. Assists in creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, satisfaction and in planning and implementing a program to develop self-perform engineering capabilities and resources. Skills And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree in Highway or Transportation Engineering and professional license in an appropriate engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board will be preferred. Minimum 20 years in design of large-scale Highways & Roads projects including 10 years on International Projects. Demonstrated skill in supervision in a lead position for minimum 5 years. Candidate should have worked in an engineering office or consultancy of repute performing relevant work and is fluent in applicable codes in US, UK and Europe and governing highway/roadway designs including AASHTO, US FHWA and TEM and have hands-on expertise in using design software such as MX-Road, InRoads and Autocad Civil 3D.
