Informal Sector Hardest Hit<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The informal sector has been the worst hit by Covid-19, as cash-starved businesses have either shut shop or delayed workers\u2019 salaries. In a report by Reuters, All India Manufacturers Organisation (AIMO)- an industry body representing some 100,000 small manufacturers &#8211; said more than two-thirds of its members faced problems in paying salaries on Tuesday, the usual day for paying monthly wages. &#8220;We have no funds to pay wages,&#8221; said K.E. Hiring Halted<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As per a PTI report, hiring activity during March has declined by 18 per cent compared to the same month in 2019 following the nationwide lockdown to tackle the COVID-19 crisis, with major impact in cities like Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad, according to Naukri JobSpeak Index.
