Job Description Your role in helping us shape the future: As a NOC Technician, you will work with a team of skilled Technicians and Engineers to deliver world class support and service to our Managed Media customers. With your technical expertise in media content support and distribution, and a background in a 24x7 Network Operations environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our managed media services to greater than 99.999% service availability. You will work closely with your peers and other departments to provide key input on the development of new processes, tools, and training material; ensuring that not only you, but your teammates, are successfully managing our Managed Media services. Providing the highest level of customer service and support are also necessary attributes for our NOC Technicians; and as such, you will be responsible for the handling phone calls, emails, incidents, and tickets in a timely manner, utilizing the multiple tools and resources that enable Intelsat to provide world-class support and service. As a NOC Technician, you need to be comfortable making tough, informed decisions with minimal supervision and support to do what is best for our Managed Media customers. And, when an incident occurs, ensuring that timely and proper troubleshooting steps, escalation processes, and notification processes are followed. Are you up to the challenge? Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and management. You should have: 2 or more years working in a 24x7 Network Operations and Support Center 2 or more years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting media content and distribution networks 1 or more years working knowledge of satellite, and RF related theory and equipment Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of SDI/ASI, MPEG Compression, SMPTE 2022, SDI/ASI/IP Transport Streams, UDP/RTP network protocols The ability to work any shift in a 24x7x365 network operations environment with little to no direct supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be internal and external customers, peers, and leadership A positive, collaborative, hard-working mindset Comfortable with extensive use of computers, sitting for extended periods of time It would be nice if you had: 2 or more years of hands-on experience in a media distribution network that uses products from vendors such as Nevion, Synamedia, Grass Valley, Evertz, Newtec, Comtech, and other vendors/products that support a high-availability media content distribution network 1 or more years of hands-on experience with routers and switches from Juniper and/or Cisco What it's like to work with us: Intelsat is connecting the world and transforming the satellite landscape by reaching beyond the traditional satellite industry.
