XR is an umbrella term encapsulating Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), mixed reality (MR), and everything in between. Qualcomm Neural Processing SDK and the Qualcomm AI Engine Direct frameworks are designed to help developers run neural network models trained in a variety of frameworks on Snapdragon platforms at blazing speeds while still sipping the smallest amount of power. The AI software XR team uses Qualcomm chips’ extensive heterogeneous computing capabilities and engineers them to allow the running of trained neural networks for XR solutions. You will see your work directly impact end user experience on XR devices around the world. Role Specific Responsibilities As an AI software XR lead, you will be a hands-on lead who will own and be responsible for bring up, innovative features implementation, deliverables, and customer engagement for our neural net engine SDK and other AI software products across multiple Qualcomm chipsets for XR. Work with other technology and product teams to support the latest and greatest DNNs emerging from the XR research community and OEMs and optimize for next generation hardware acceleration cores for power and performance. As part of this role, you will be leading a team responsible for software enhancements to the Snapdragon Neural Processing SDK, other AI software frameworks and associated tools for XR specific features and requirements. You will provide technical direction to the team implementing new features and commercializing CPU/DSP/GPU/Compute runtimes for XR platform. You will be interacting closely with customers and product marketing team on state-of-the-art requirements and translate them into technical requirements, schedules and delivery plans. You will need to thrive in an environment with varying degrees of ambiguity typically associated with delivering cutting edge technology working with key customers for new product segments. You will also have to keep up with the fast-paced development happening in the industry and academia to continuously innovate and enhance our product. Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required. Participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations. Minimum Skills Live and breathe quality software development with excellent analytical and debugging Experience with machine learning accelerators or GPU development, optimizing algorithms for hardware acceleration cores using OpenCL, DSPs and/or ML specific cores. Strong knowledge on Data Structures and Algorithm, Graph optimization. Strong understanding of Deep Learning fundamentals. Strong development skills in C/C++, Python Experience on developing data visualization, code and performance profiling tools and extensions to IDEs Good understanding of optimization techniques for better Performance, Power, Memory usage. Experience with at least one machine learning framework like TensorFlow, Caffe, Pytorch, etc. Experience with embedded systems development. Understanding of software development and debugging in embedded environments. Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, written) Ability to collaborate across a globally diverse team and multiple interests Preferred Skills Familiarity with neural network operators and model formats including PyTorch, ONNX, Caffe, Caffe2, and TensorFlow. Optimizing algorithms for hardware acceleration cores using OpenCL, DSPs and/or ML specific cores Experience working with heterogeneous or parallel computing systems and knowledge of associated languages like OpenCL, CUDA, etc is a plus Experience developing components of optimization workflows such as TensorRT or NVIDIA nsight Experience developing VSCode plugins or related Experience in development of drivers/frameworks of multimedia systems like camera, audio, video, graphics etc is a plus Experience with machine learning accelerators or GPU development, optimizing algorithms for hardware acceleration cores using OpenCL, DSPs and/or ML specific cores Good understanding about Processor architecture, system design fundamentals Background in mathematical operations: linear algebra, fast math libraries Experience 15+ years of relevant work experience and leading a 20+ member team consisting of individual contributors and managers Educational Requirements Bachelor's/Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Education Minimum Qualifications Bachelors - Computer Science, Bachelors - Engineering, Bachelors - Information Systems Work Experiences 4+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., 8+ years Software Engineering or related work experience. Skills Certifications: Education Preferred Qualifications Masters - Computer Science, Masters - Engineering, Masters - Information Systems Work Experiences 15+ years Software Engineering or related work experience. ,2+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports. ,3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above). ,4+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization. ,4+ years experience with API. ,4+ years experience with Database Management Software.
