GENERAL SUMMARY Qualcomm's Corporate Engineering division in Bangalore is looking for a software development engineer with proven track record of application / embedded software development. The successful candidate will be responsible for development of application software, APIs targeted for PC, Linux and Android platforms for computer vision SoCs. The successful candidate will design, document, implement and optimize APIs, sample code targeted for computer vision use cases for AR/VR and mobile applications. The candidate is expected to closely collaborate with feature owners and domain/technology experts to define/validation APIs across software and hardware SoC platforms. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision, performing task definition, and work breakdown including duration estimates. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in hardware and software design and test, enjoy working in a lab environment, be proactive, and have a hands-on approach to work assignments. Candidates must have great interest in new technologies and willingness to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate must be able to work well with others in a technical environment. Frequent interfacing with team members in the US will be required. The candidate must be able to travel abroad. The ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving skills, is expected. Minimum Qualifications 4+ years of experience on embedded software development Must have excellent C++ and object-oriented programming skills. Experience with version control software such as Git Experience with CI/CD process Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Qualcomm chipsets Strong lab skills and experience with standard lab equipment Excellent communications skills oral and written Experience with large scale software projects and SDK development Testing and debugging on mobile platforms or other embedded systems Strong skills in analyzing performance of AI/CV solutions on heterogenous architectures (core, cache, memory, bus, etc.). Experience with software process improvements through measurable KPIs Candidates with experience in the following areas are preferred:Mobile device operating systems such as Android OpenGL ES, NEON programming, Scripting Machine Learning, Neural Networks Graphics, game engine SW architecture Developing visual computing software Education requirements B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Software Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
