< u>< strong>2200 associates globally in scope ! P&O Head responsible for Ophthalmic, Local Market and NTO Strategy & Operations (:2200 associates globally in scope). Collaborates with business and enables achievement of business strategy and big bold objectives for the areas in scope. Implements the One Novartis People Strategy for the business group including leading the culture transformation, leadership development, talent development and retention, integrated workforce management, leading organizational design, diagnostics and other organizational development needs for the business.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for approx. 2200 associates based in various countries: 8 internal sites in the Local Market Manufacturing Platform, 2 internal and 7 external sites in Ophthalmology Supply Unit and for the Global Strategy & Operations team< li>
  • Execute the strategic P&O plan for the groups in scope derived from the People Strategy and the Business Unit strategy, helping sustain competitiveness in an increasingly challenging environment and enabling the achievement of the big bold objectives for the areas in scope.


    < li> < ul>For the groups in scope, responsible for:
    • Culture: lead continuous culture evolution together with the business leadership team (including change management). Advise on actions to continuously embed the desired culture of inspired, curious, unbossed and integrity. Ensures diversity and inclusive environment.< li>
    • Leadership development: coach leadership teams to be able to develop teams and self. Provide guidance, coaching and leadership to Site P&O to implement the Business Strategy and People Strategy locally. Be a role model in people management and people development< li>
    • Integrated Workforce Management: planning for capabilities and roles needed in alignment with business leaders for the short mid long term. Drive upskilling and re-skilling in collaboration with TODI and Learning teams. Participate in key interviews of leadership roles. Ensure onboarding process is consistently applied.< li>
    • Talent Development: fully embed the talent management culture and ensure strong and diverse succession pipelines are in place. High quality development plans aligned with key stakeholders are in place. Stimulate talent exchange across the organization. Drive capability assessment and development. Assess and recommend or identify development opportunities or programs for associates. Act as an employee counsellor in critical cases.< li>
    • Organisational Development: lead organizational design, diagnostics and other organizational development needs for the groups in scope. Collaborate with teams and sites to develop and implement fit for purpose organisational design with focus on organizational effectiveness (team effectiveness, leadership development, org design, etc.). Advise on actions to continuously develop the organisational design and collaborate with the line managers on organisational change.< li>
    • Performance: ensure the organization lives EVOLVE including Retros, Check-ins, etc.< li>
    • Processes and Policies: input to and implement consistent P&O practices. Manage these processes across geographic boundaries. Report on metrics and KPIs, according to NTO P&O governance.< li>
    • Manage P&O aspects of transformation projects as required including change management efforts.< li>
    • Ensure adherence to relevant labour and employment laws and, when necessary, manage labour relations, including relations with external labour organizations.< li>
    • As appropriate, responsible for implementation of, compliance to and governance of practices specifically prescribed to this role by the Novartis Manufacturing Manual.

        Education:
        • University degree in Labor Law, Psychology, social sciences or business discipline< li>

          < u>< strong>
          • Extensive experience in senior P&O roles (+ 16 years), including significant P&O leadership experience at a large matrix organization with significant Manufacturing Operations< li>
          • Proven leadership ability< li>
          • Excellent business understanding< li>
          • Previous experience in Novartis Technical Operations (NTO) desired< li>
          • Experience in leading transformations< li>
          • Human Resources, coaching, training, organizational development consulting< li>
          • Track record of successfully managing major change, cultural awareness and sensitivity< li>
          • Significant record of managing processes related to employee selection, development, retention, and motivation< li>
          • Proven experience in labor relations< li>
          • Excellent oral and written communication skills
