Job Purpose

< u>< strong>Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a section within the Electronics System Integration division in ICS Global Engineering organization. As a first-line manager, the incumbent will provide leadership to a section primarily focused on developing on-board systems and software for Caterpillar’s Digital solutions.

Job Duties

< u>< strong>As an Engineering Manager, you will coach, guide and facilitate the development of a workgroup to develop collaborative relationship among themselves, as well as with Clients, Suppliers and other functional groups to ensure goals are achieved. You would create and maintain an organizational climate culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement commitment and a sense of urgency towards business success. Workgroup budget would be up to $2M with at least 15+ employees. The scope of work will include NPI, CPI and maintenance in systems development, software development and validation.

Specific Responsibilities Include
< u>< strong>

  • Understand & Communicate team’s Purpose, Vision Strategy and current year’s programs and deliverables.< li>
  • Actively Champion good collaborative relationship with internal and external customers, gather & respond to customer feedback, guide the organization's focus towards meeting customers' technology, product, service and business needs.< li>
  • Drive continuous improvement (6 Sigma Sponsor).< li>
  • Develop R&R’s, resource plan (with flexibility) and budget RBM.< li>
  • Identify and develop employees for the current and future roles.< li>
  • Ensure team delivers on all its commitments on products (time, quality and cost) and actively govern through goals and metrics.
    < li> < ul> Required Skills

    < u>< strong>BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:
    • B.E. B.Tech with 12+ years of relevant engineering work experience (including relevant leadership experience)< li>
    • Technical leadership experience in designing electronic control systems or developing software.< li>
    • Project Management experience collaborating with globally distributed cross-functional teams< li>
    • Experience of managing teams with over 15 direct employees, proven team management and leadership skills.< li>
    • High energy and initiative with a can- do attitude is a must
      < li> < ul> Desired Skills
      < u>< strong>
      • 6 Sigma Black belt experience.< li>
      • Master’s degree (equivalent) in Engineering, Electronics curriculum.< li>
      • Product Development experience in mining construction industry
        < li> < ul>Relocation is available for this position.
