GENERAL SUMMARY .

Job Function

Member of the automotive chipset architecture team contributing to the system design and implementation of automotive platforms using Qualcomm IC’s and operating from San Diego.

Skills/Experience

10+ years of design and architecture experience of SoC Chipsets based automotive and/or mobile platforms, or products, such as smartphones, laptops or tablets.

Strong analytical skills and familiarity with top-down engineering design. Must be capable of converting high-level product requirements to architecture trade-off’s and design parameters.

Experience with analysis and/or design of various power regulator topologies.

Experience with PCB design and system architecture

Familiarity with Power Grid Topologies and power distribution performance and challenges

Use of key performance indicators (KPI) – power, cost, board area, performance, etc. – and ability to trade-off design parameters against KPI’s.

Must have knowledge of current and evolving semiconductor technologies and their impact on chipset architecture.

Knowledge of inter-chip interfaces is a plus.

Experience with PMIC and Digital product optimization.

Experience in chipset partitioning analysis, power distribution network analysis and architecture, or high-speed interface signal integrity/power integrity analysis and architecture is a plus.

Experience with Infotainment, and Connectivity chipsets and architectures a plus

Experience with automotive and mobile standards is a plus.

Experience with high speed interface(eg PCIe, MIPI CSI/DSI, RGMII/SGMII, DisplayPort) specifications and designs will be a plus

Experience with displays and/or camera interfaces and data rates is a plus

Knowledge of Automotive standards like AEC-Q100 and ISO26262 is a plus

Experience with Automotive or mobile BSP and Apps software such as Android, Linux, or QNX is a plus.

Excellent communication skills are required.

Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, etc.) is required.

Absolutely must have high initiative and be capable of delivering quality work with little to no direction. Need to drive complex projects across multiple teams in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

Automotive Chipset System design and use case analysis to evaluate architectural changes to existing and new platforms.

Work closely with product marketing on requirements for new automotive SOCS

Work closely with internal and external software, hardware and test teams across global sites and time zones.

Responsible for documentation and presentation of analysis and results to core teams and management.

Responsible for system power grid designs for automotive devices.

Educational Requirements

Required: Bachelor's, Computer and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Computer and/or Electrical Engineering

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelors - Computer Science, Bachelors - Engineering, Bachelors - Information Systems

Work Experiences: 7+ years of Systems engineering or related work experience.
